Valerie Cochlin

Legal Administrator and Litigation Paralegal

At a young age Valerie’s parents taught her to be independent and to excel in anything she put her mind to. She moved to San Diego to attend the University of San Diego where she received degrees in Psychology and Speech Communication Studies. She then received her paralegal certificate with a focus in civil litigation from the University of San Diego Paralegal Program. Given her background in plaintiff’s personal injury and in legal administration, Valerie found Torgenson Law to be a perfect fit when she moved to Phoenix in early 2015.

As a legal administrator, Valerie is responsible for the office’s human resources and facilities management, as well as the daily administrative operations of the office. She also plans firm-sponsored events, travel, and community outreach programs. As a litigation paralegal, Valerie enjoys being a part of team who all have the same objective: to make their clients whole again. She particularly enjoys that she has never stopped learning as the law is constantly changing and every case presents its challenges.

Valerie is very passionate about serving her local community. She has served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Paralegal Paralegal Association and was a representative for the California Alliance of Paralegal Associations. She is currently a member of both the Association of Legal Administrators and the Phoenix Chapter’s Association of Legal Administrators, as the University of San Diego Alumni Association.

Valerie is an avid cook and gardener. She also enjoys interior design and jewelry making. Most of all she enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and their two girls Lucy Q & Micki J.
