Legal Administrator and Litigation Paralegal
Valerie Cochlin is a legal administrator and litigation paralegal at Torgenson Law. She grew up in Firebaugh,
California; a small rural town in the central valley. At a young age, Valerie’s parents taught her to be independent and to excel in anything she put her mind to. She moved to San Diego to attend the University of San Diego where she received degrees in Psychology and Speech Communication Studies. She then received her paralegal certificate with a focus on civil litigation from the University of San Diego Paralegal Program. Given her background in plaintiff’s personal injury and in legal administration, Valerie found Torgenson Law to be a perfect fit when she moved to Phoenix in early 2015.
As a legal administrator, Valerie is responsible for the office’s human resources and facilities management, as well as the daily administrative operations of the office. She also plans firm-sponsored events, travel, and community outreach programs. As a litigation paralegal, Valerie enjoys being a part of a team who all have the same objective: to make their clients whole again. She particularly enjoys that she has never stopped learning as the law is constantly changing and every case presents its challenges.
Valerie is very passionate about serving her local community and has served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Paralegal Paralegal Association and was a representative for the California Alliance of Paralegal Associations. She is an active member of the Phoenix Chapter’s Association of Legal Administrators, Maricopa County Bar Association Paralegal Division, and the University of San Diego Alumni Association.
In her free time, Valerie enjoys cooking, Zumba, and spending time with her husband Mike. They especially enjoy venturing out on the weekends on his Harley Davidson and exploring new areas of Arizona.
